Getting from NAIA to Makati

Getting from NAIA to Makati

From NAIA you can reach Makati by coupon taxi (fixed LTFRB rate), yellow or regular metered taxi, or Grab. As of 8 Oct 2026, UBE Express airport buses have no Makati route. Every NAIA taxi comes with a dispatch slip. Keep it, because it has the numbers to call if something goes wrong.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is run by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC). Its transport page, last updated in December 2024, lists the options below. The fares quoted here are the ones NNIC publishes, except the yellow taxi flag-down, which went up in September 2026 (see the table). Where NNIC or the operator doesn't publish a fare, we leave it out.

Before you leave the terminal

  • Take the dispatch slip. NAIA staff give a dispatch slip to every passenger using a coupon taxi, yellow metered taxi or regular metered taxi. NNIC says to keep it and not hand it to the driver. If you have a complaint about the trip, call the numbers printed on it.
  • Use the official pick-up points only. In June 2025, after an unauthorised taxi overcharged a passenger on a trip between terminals, NNIC said it was auditing transport accreditations and adding CCTV cameras and security staff. Its accreditation system is meant to ensure that only authorised vehicles, operating from designated booths and charging transparent rates, pick up passengers at the terminals.

Taxis

Option How it is priced Where to find it (as NNIC lists it, Dec 2024)
Coupon taxi Fixed rate by destination, prescribed by the LTFRB (the land transport regulator). The rate tables are linked from NNIC's transport page. T1: arrival curbside and arrival extension · T2: arrival curbside near bay 11 · T3: arrival curbside across bay 6
Yellow metered taxi ₱115 flag-down for the first 500 m since 28 September 2026 (NNIC's page still shows ₱75), then ₱4 for every 300 m and ₱4 for every 2 minutes of waiting T1: arrival curbside and arrival extension · T2: arrival curbside near bay 14 · T3: arrival curbside across bay 8
Regular metered taxi ₱45 flag-down, then ₱13.50 per kilometre and ₱2 per minute of travel time (NNIC's figures as of December 2024; a fare-hike petition for regular taxis was pending in 2026) T1: arrival curbside · T2: arrival curbside near bay 23 · T3: arrival curbside across bay 13

For coupon and yellow metered taxis, NNIC notes a 20% discount for Filipino senior citizens, persons with disability and students.

Grab and other ride-hailing apps

  • Grab Taxi: booked in the Grab app. The driver turns on the meter once you're inside. As NNIC described it in December 2024, you pay the LTFRB metered fare plus Grab's booking fee, which is shown in the app.
  • Grab "Airport to Anywhere": a dedicated fleet of Grab-accredited cars. The price is shown upfront in the app and stays fixed however long the trip takes. Pick-up: T1 arrival curbside, T2 arrival curbside near bay 6. At T3, ride-hailing pick-ups use the hub in the multi-level parking building (see below).
  • Terminal 3 ride-hailing hub: since December 2024, Terminal 3 has a central pick-up hub for ride-hailing apps and JoyRide's metered taxis, inside the T3 multi-level parking building. When the hub opened, NNIC announced booking lounges next to the car park for Grab, JoyRide and Angkas's Angcars, so you can book even without the app. NNIC's transport page still lists older curbside pick-up spots for Terminal 3, so follow the signs when you arrive.

UBE Express airport buses

NNIC's transport page still lists a UBE Express bus to One Ayala in Makati, but as of 8 October 2026 UBE Express's own route list has no Makati or BGC route. Its routes from NAIA Terminals 1 to 4 go to places such as Robinsons Place Manila, Victory Liner Pasay, PITX, Araneta City Cubao and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. To get to Makati, take a taxi or a ride-hailing car instead.

Car rental

NNIC lists rental desks at each terminal, with or without a driver: T2 transport lounge in front of bay 12, and T3 main arrival hall. At T1, NNIC lists the main arrival curbside, but since the January 2025 change to T1's curbside, reports place rent-a-car at the ground-level arrival extension, so follow the signs.

By road

NNIC's directions say Makati connects to the airport via EDSA and the NAIA Expressway. Travel time depends on traffic, which NNIC doesn't estimate.
